Srving CAvight Smith, A. a. Principal Irving Wright Smith was born in Wethersfield, Conn., graduated from the Hartford Public High School in 1906, from Trinity College in 1910 with the degree B. S., and from Yale University in 1913 with the degree M. A. in Educa- tion. For the past three years he has been enrolled in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard. His teaching experience began in 1909 in the Night High School in Hartford. In 1910 he became vice-principal and instructor in the Seymour (Conn.) High. The next four years he spent as instructor in the Crosby High School in Waterbury, Conn.; therea ter becoming’ principal of the high school in Simsbury, Conn. He resigned after five years’ service there, to become principal of the Leominster High School. 11
