They ended their season with an 11-0 record. The inter- mediate team ended with a 7-4 record and the begin- ning girls finished with a 4-7 record. The All Confer- ence team consisted of Sheila Burger, Renee John- son, Cheryl Ridderheim, Jil Shoeff, Chris Thomas, and Melinda Yockey, The Lions were very well repre- sented in the Sectionals with Nancy Herendeen, Chris Thomas, and Jil Shoeff win- ning first place ribbons, Jil completed her season by winning first place in Regional competition and ending up in the State finals with her bar routine. The team should do quite well next year, but they will definitely miss Sheila Burger, the only senior on the squad. 1. Melinda Yockey uses a back hand spring in her routine. 2. ' ' Excellent Job ' Says Coach Kerbel! We had a very suc- cessful season this year, 6 out of 13 wrestlers were new and they did an ex- cellent job, says Coach Kerbel. It was the second year of Wrestling for the Lions each weight class was filled without forfeiting a meet. The team placed fourth in the Conference. Jon Stuckey and Bill Hicks placed second in the Sec- tional and went to the Regionals. Bill Hicks also had the most pins with 6, Glen Phillips was the most improved wrestler David Grieger was selected honorary captain. There were 12 lettermen this year, with only 5 lettermen return- ing next year. The Lion ' s record was 4 5. 1. Coaches Kerbel and Dubach anxiously await the outcome. 2.
