Presiding over the activities of the School Board is its chairman, Mr. T. Glen Miller. SCHOOL BOARD Upon the willing and capable shoulders of these seven business men who give freely of their time falls the responsibility of planning and coordinating the administration and activities of all the schools in the city of Lenoir, including L. H. S. It is the never- ending task of the School Board to secure teachersg determine needed repairs, addi- tions, and changesg fix salaries and bonusesg and make all the minor decisions connected with running our schools. This year a mod- ern new building at Davenport Junior High is visible proof of their labor. All these things, and many others, they have done well. Active members of our School Board are: Mr. T. Glen Miller, chairmang Dr. Donald Lackey, Mr. Clar ence Beach, Mr. George Crowell, Mr. Walter Spainhour, Mrs. Baxter Troutman, and Mr. John Barr Hou ston. wifi I4 :ff 315 . E 53 A. Nsggffhe allllll HH if ll fuiwgxy V Here, assisting our principal Mr. M PRINCIPAL The halls of Lenoir are fortu- nate to be graced with the tall, genial form of Mr. Henry McFayden, our principal. His understanding evokes from a genuine interest in each stu- dent rather than kindness prompted by obligation to duty. He commands with authority and demands re- spect, but maintains a true friendship with each of the many students he influences. . , C- Fadyen, during school hours in the office, is S U P E R I N T E N D E N T his secretary, Mrs. Kathleen Justice. Working in conjunction with the School Board and the principals, the superintendent efficiently administrates the combined schools of Lenoir. This, Mr. Hagaman has done consistently and well during his eight years here. By his understanding and generous aid, Superintendent Hagaman has made a true place for himself in Lenoir. One of the many duties of Superintendent Haga- man's secretary, Mrs. Ruth Lingle, is writing pay- roll checks. J ,J -L 149 . ,X , .. v. up Yi MISS MARY ANGLEY U. S. MISS GEORGIA HALEY Although one of our teachers was not at Lenoir High for much of this year, she was never forgotten by any of us. Her lessons in Caesar coupled with her interest in stu- dents will go with us through life. To you, Miss Haley, we say, Wel- come home! LUNCH RCOM STAFF Day in and day out, the faithful lunchroom staff supplies hungry mouths and empty breadbaskets with hot and nourishing meals. Pleasant faces greet the stu- dents at every lunch period, and they are seldom appreciated for their hard work. ,, ,NVQ We are indeed indebted to our loyal lunchroom staff composed of Mrs. C. D. Honeycutt, Julia Black, Mary Shatley, and Norma Hartley. e CUSTODIA Mr. Mack Cook, Raymond Ferguson, and Stanley Bowers are the conscientious men responsible for the upkeep of our school. NS Hard workers are our custodians. Coming early to school, they get everything ready for our comfort and convenience.
