The wrestling team started off the season with a close Win over the powerful El Segundo team and looked like potential championshp material. We rolled over our next three opponents with ease and finished up 1957 by coppinq the Hawthorne Novice Tournament. Bill Benson, Ken Yuill, Bob Cooper, and Ernie MacMillen walked off with titles and cups. A streak of load luck plagued the Lancers in 1958 e-first, we were sidelined for three weeks with impetiqo. When we returned to action we were faced with the loss of Bill Benson. Several of our best wrestlers somehow never aot back into the pre- Christmas condition and dropped close decisions where it hurt. With practically the entire team return- ina for the next season, we can expect to be stronq contenders. I. V. - Row 1 - Standing.
