Each year we have the opportunity to entertain a student from a foreign country. We have had students from such far off places as Brazil, Argen- tina, Italy, Bolivia, Denmark, Iran, New Zealand, Norway, and Africa. Our AFS student this school year was Barbara Mueller from Austria. We learned a lot from her and en- joyed her visit. It is a small world. AFS 23

FF Continues To Be Active A LH The Lemoore chapter of the FFA is one of the most active clubs at L.H.S. They held an FFA week, hav- ing competitions between the classes including everything from hay bail- ing to cow chip throwing. They had two sectional officers, Karen Ro- senthal and Ron Rinehart. They were featured in the National Future Farmers magazine. They competed in all areas of farming, including livestock, horses, meats, vegetables, and farm power. They held a barbe- que for the faculty at L.H.S. and also went rollerskating as a group. ln addition, they co-sponsored the win- ter dance, with Student Council. Farm Power. FTA Sends Valentine Grams Valentine grams? at LHS? That's right! They were sold by Future Teacher members prior to that very special day. The club also held a cake raffle at the half-time of the Lemoore-Hanford basketball game. They used the money for scholar- ships and a trip to CSUF. The annu- al Observation Day was held in Jan- uary. The members had the opportu- nity to spend one entire day observ- ing students and teachers at work and at play.
