fa! lv- 9 paula powell is homecoming queen Homecoming, being the traditional affair that it is, sparked to a high pitch the enthusi- asm of the oversized crowd which included students and returning alumni. Ever-present at home games was the Tiger marching band, with its 80 members and drum major, Chris Pena. Several numbers were played while the majorettes twirled fire batons and the lettergirls executed hand routines. Pepgirls and cheerleaders entertained with a skit, Little Mary Sunshine. Student Body candidate, Paula Powell, a senior, was crowned Homecoming Queen during halftime ceremonies when she announced the senior class as proud first-place winners in float competitioni Paula's court included Janice Quintel, seniorg Susan Walker, juniorg Barbara Miguel, sophomoreg jenny Nicholson, freshmang Diane Connors, L Association. Debbie Oliv- eira, the 1968 Homecoming Queen, was present for the Coronation. L K.. :X ,. . .., . , J 1 -nu 'f' 15'a.gQ ' ' ' 1 ref-uf-Q-213 We've got spirit! was the cry heard after a parade through downtown Lemoore as students assembled in the stadium for the annual Homecoming night rally. The class of 1970 showed their spirit for the second consecutive year by winning the float competition, but juniors proved superior by winning the spirit stick at the night rally. A fun-filled event of laughter and games was a giant sendoff to Tiger teams who showed their spirit by winning another grid contest.
