as iscan BLPISS HISTDBV ln September 1955 we entered the halls of Leetonia High School as eighty-two dazed freshmen with Mr. Thomas and Miss Thomas as our class sponsors. Our class officers for the freshman year were: Pres., Raymond Pylesg V. Pres., Linda Farring- ton, Sec., Marie Perry, Treas., Sandra Volpe. We chose joseph Less and Robert Balevre as Student Council representatives. Sandra Volpe was chosen as freshman attendant to the homecoming queen. As money-making schemes, wc had a magazine campaign and also a bake sale. We were in charge of clean-up for the All-High Dances which were held November 30, 1955 and April 1956. These dances were enjoyed by all who attended. We ended our freshman year with a successful class picnic at Firestone Park. With Mr. Tanner, Miss McNulty, and Mr. Kraft as class sponsors we entered our Sophomore year as eighty-four carefree students. This year our class officers were as follows: Pres., john Ferry: V. Pres., janet Miller, Sec., Marlene Miller, Treasurer, Charles Lippiatt. Our Student Council representatives this year were Kay Senior and james Grove. Kay Senior was chosen Sophomore attendant to the homecoming queen. To enlarge our treasury we sold concessions at the basketball games. We welcomed Thomas Fraser, Wilbur jones, Thomas Haschen, Ruth King, Harry Arkwright, and james Lydon to our class this year. ' To complete our Sophomore year, we had our annual class picnic at Woodland Park. As eighty-two peppy juniors we entered our third year of high school with Mr. McCullough, Mr. Kraft, and Mr. Besse as our class sponsors. As officers for our junior year we chose: Pres., janet Millerg V. Pres., Charles Lippiattg Sec., Mary Ellen Lippg Treas., Miriam Davis. We chose Lynn Altomare, Gayle Garwood, and Eugene Leffler as our junior Student Council representatives. Marlene Miller was chosen junior attendant to the homecoming queen. This year we welcome Peggy and james Smith to our class. To make money we sold concessions at football and basketball games. We also held dances after some of the games. One of the highlights of our junior year was receiving our class rings in November 1957. We had a successful class play entitled january Thaw on November 22, 1957. It was under the direction of Mr. Richard Banker. On March 14 the juniors were in charge of getting the orchestra for the All-High. The dance was enjoyed by all in attendance. The climax of our junior year was our junior-Senior Prom. It was held May 17, 1958 and the theme was japanese Gardens . To complete a stlccessftll year our annual picnic was held at Woodland Park on june 6. ln September 1958 we entered our last year in Leetonia High School as seventy-two energetic Seniors. Our class sponsor was Miss Wilhelm. The class officers selected this year were: Pres., Charles Lippiattg V. Pres., Mervin Bartho- low, Sec., Kay Seniorg Treas., Nova jean Edgerton. Our Student Council representatives were the same as last year. Our homecoming queen was Terri Reese and the Senior attendant was Marie Perry. This year we welcomed Patricia Bean and David Gorman to our class. To enlarge our treasury we held dances after some of the games. An All-High Dance was held on November 21, 1958. The Seniors were in charge of decor- ations. I One of the highlights of our Senior year was the recieving of our Senior pictures at Christmas time. Olur Senior class play was presented May 8 8a 9. lt was under the direction of Mr. Richard Ban er. In May 1959 the jtmiors gave a banquet and prom which the Seniors appreciated. We would like to thank the juniors for the wonderful time that we had. On Class Day, May 22, 1959, the Seniors made their last appearance before the student body of Leetonia High School. The speaker for Baccalaureate, which was May 24 was Rev. A. A. Kosowar. On May 27 the Seniors were graduated in the Commencement exercises. The Commencement speakers were the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the class. As we depart on our separate journeys, we will always remember the wonderful four years in Leetonia High School and the teachers anti fellow classmates who have made these four years as wonderful as they have been. janet Miller Patricia Bean Linda Farrington Page Twenty
