I v The trade and industry class has enioyed one of the most
successful years of any club this year. This club, commonly
called the T 8 I Club is one of the most active clubs in school.
ln order to become a member of this organization one must
work at least i5 hours on a iob. Among the advantages of
this system is the fact that on most iobs it enables you to hire
out as an apprentice, and after working a certain length of
time you become 11 skilled tradesman. The program is open to
girls as well as boys so that everyone in high school in a full
time or port time iob derives benefits from the program, The
program is under the capable direction of Mr. Dodds who
works as coordinator in this area. Not only are you placed on
p,,6S,de,,, the iob of your choosing when you enter the program but you
also spend one hour a day in class, studying your particular vocation, getting o theo-
retical as well as a practical view, and learning various other necessities that will be
more apt to make you a success in the industrial and business worlds
One of our activities this year was our annual employer-employee banquet, which
led by our very efficient president, Dick Thompson, proved very successful, after which
plans were made for a club picnic at Silver Creek Falls.
