2 We-1694: Stagg X 3 A well-organized staff, headed by Editor-in-chief Betty Southwick, assisted by As- sistant Editor George Fowler, Business Manager Grace Whiteis, Assistant Business Man- ager Jucly Swanson and an able staff of writers, issued the first copy of the Lebanon Q Hi-Light February 21, 1945. N Because of difficulty in obtaining an advisor at the beginning of the year, the paper was unable to go to press sooner. As a result, there were only eight issues. This year the Lebanon Hi-Light has reached a thriving circulation of 1200. Into A many parts of the world the Hi-Light has been sent at the request of ex-Lebanon High f students now in the service. Our exchange has a far-reaching circulation also. ' Q ,, Many local businessmen are to be thanked for their part in sponsoring the paper. J Also Mr. Van Loh, who by special arrangement, printed our paper. As our advisor, Mr. Hickcox has led us through a very successful year. The entire A staff has appreciated his cooperation and able leadership. f, 3 cz ,K E Y V XA' '5 ,c , Q L I i l cf .. I, I. Wgw wsmfgylgw A gfome Za. The Home Economics Club enjoyed a very successful year under the able advisor- shfp of our new instructor, Mrs. Parham. The meetings were held during the noon hour, every two weeks. At the first meeting of the year the following officers were elected: Joan Voegelein, president, Betty Southwick, vice-president, Wanda Nichols, secretary, Helen Crockett, treasurer, Marjorie Kimble, historian, Joanne Warner, custodian, and 'Inez Powell accompanist. The club had a very colorful style show this year including 81 girls, who made and modeled their clothes. The clothes were play suits, spring frocks, dressy dresses, school dresses and suits. After the show the home economics building had open house for the mothers so they might see the equipment and gain a better understanding of what their daughters are doing. The annual initiation was held for the new members. There was a large group of new members initiated by effective candlelight. There will be only a few graduating seniors from the club this year. After the spring concert the club served refreshments to members of the band and glee clubs.
