The eighth grade is housed in the gym annex of the main school building, although
some of the eighth grade classes are held in other rooms ot the building. This gives
the class a good idea ot the arrangement of the building that will stand them in hand
for their years to come in the school system.
There are many students of the eighth grade who have taken an active part in
the music department ot the school. These students are well represented in both the ,
band and glee club. 3
The participation in the bond drives by the eighth grade students has been 'ex-
cellent. They ranked second in the school in their purchases. They have played their .b
part on the home front that our men might have better protection on the battle front.
The one big event in the life of every eighth grade student is the annual class party.
This was held March 23, in the gym, and was a huge success according to the comments
of the students. A

On September 25, 1944, approximately ninety-seven Eighth Grade students entered
l Lebanon High School. Having had contact with the high school last year, these students
H k knew their way around the buildings.

T' l Although the eighth grade could not participate in athletics, the whole class en-
ll xl thusiastically attended all the games that they were able to, and many of the boys are
lf- ll l ' lookin forward to turnin out for football, basketball and baseball next ear.

The Seventh Grade, with an enrollment of eighty-five, entered the Lebanon High
School the fall of l944. They held their first class meeting the second week of school
and elected the following officers: President, Bruce Howe, vice-president, Rudy Kellison,
secretory, Mary Waddell, treasurer, Betty Schackman, sergeant-at-arms, Don Baker,
and class representative, Dewanda Hamilton.
This class was formally presented to Supt. King and Principal A. B. Cash at their
second class meeting in October.
Bruce Howe, as president, made the presentation speech, introducing the class.
Both Supt. King and Mr. Cash responded, welcoming them into the high school, and en-
couraging them to do their best to be a credit to their school.
The band members enjoyed learning to march and are particularly proud of the
