WW Seem 66444 When school opened September, l942, l22 freshmen enrolled. After being prop- erly initiated they settld down to become members of Lebanon High School. With Miss Phibbs as their class advisor they chose the following officers: President, Jack Hyder, vice-president, Cedric Wallace, secretary, Caroll Penfold, treasurer, Bob Bouman, class representative, Bob Fisher. This year proved to be an excellent one with good partici- pation in social activities. - The following year the Sophomores took an active part in athletics, band, glee and school clubs. Under the odvisorship of Miss Ender they elected their class officers. They were, President, Don Davidson, vice-president, Bill Miller, secretary, Margaret Smith, treasurer, Curtis Coe, sergeant-at-arms, Erwin Wilkinson, class representative, Ramona Iverson. From the beginning the Junior year was designated to be an outstanding one. Under the able leadership of class advisors, Mrs. Wilshire and Mr. Butler, President Bill Peden, Vice-president Tony Solberg, Secretary Janet Durst, Treasurer Caroll Penfold, Sergeant-at-arms Richard Bartels and Class Representative Cedric Wallace the year was very successful. After raising money the necessary funds they sponsored the Junior-Senior Prom, under the chairmanship of Janet Durst. The theme, Dreamboat, was effectively carried out and music was provided by a band from Camp Adair. The grand march was led by Queen Ann and her court of six princesses. This year, as in previous years, found outstanding athletes, excellent choral groups and grand repre- sentation in all school activities. On September 25, 1944, 87 seniors began their last year, secretly a little sad but with equal enthusiasm. They got off to a good start with advisors, Miss Schiltz and Mr. Brenner, and by electing, Bob Olds, president, Douglas Smith, vice-president, Betty Southwick, secretary, Izetta Richards, treasurer, Bill Peden, sergeant-at-arms, Don Ellis, class representative. As a result of fine class cooperation, several successful dances were given, the best being the Christmas dance. The Senior play, "Bargain Bride," presented April 24, was a fast-moving, hilarious play. It was capably directed by Miss Schiltz. May ll, Queen Betty ll and her court of six princesses, Lorraine Baker, Izetta Rich- ards, Betty Irvine, Helen Fiala, Ruth Ford, and Phyllis Miller reigned over the May Day celebration. Baccalaureate took place on June 3 and commencement on June 6 with 93 gradu- ating-ten of whom are in the service. It is with considerable thought to the future and a backward glance at the past four years the seniors, half-regretfully, leave Lebanon High for success in the future world. 'r '.
