The class of '47 was lucky in that there was no official initiation,
although. a few ot the customary country rides were experienced by
the Freshman boys.
Due to wartime conditions, few social activities have been held by
the Freshman class. But this did not stop the Freshmen from making
themselves known. They were active in sports and music. Ron Cox
was the outstanding athelete oi the class in both basketball and foot-

sentative, Lynn Hamilton. The faculty advisers are Mrs. C. Smith and
Miss Iulia Barnum.
The sophomores have taken an active part in all the school af-
tairs. There are tive sophomores in the Octette, two in Girls' Trio,
thirty-six in Glee, and twenty-tour in band. Sophomore boys who were
prominent in athletics are: Lynn Hamilton, David Powell, Dean Ward,
Arthur Cobb, Denny Marvin, Kenneth Haughton, Ioe Elkins. Larry
Christian held the responsible position of Editor of the l-li-Light, Nor-
man Weekly is Student Director lor the band, and Kenneth Shores
has been outstanding in Art. Sophomore boys also won the champion-
ship title in lntermural Basketball. Sophomores also rank high scho-

have, however, put in a great deal ol time in useful activities. The

The class officers ot the eighth grade are: President, Stanley Pesek,
Vice-President, Gilbert Scott, Secretary, Shirley Simons, Sergeant-at
Arms, Kenneth Miller, Representative, lean Russell. Our Class Adviser
is Mrs. Faller.
At the end of the second semester, Mrs. Parks, our mathematics
and citizenship teacher, left us. Mrs. McDonald replaced her.
We had a farewell party for Mrs. Parks, at which time the presi-
dent presented her with a gitt.
The second class party was held in honor of Margie Coe, as a
farewell party. It consisted ot games, a program, and refreshments.
