The Class Prophecy After living in Hollywood for twelve years, taking part in numerous productions, I came back to Lebanon for a visit. At a Missionary Meeting, I met Mary Elizabeth Scofield, a class friend, who is the proprietor of the East End Grocery. We spent a very gossipy time over the accomplishments of our fellow classmates. And the things she told me! Did you know Mylin Ross holds the record for pulling more teeth in one minute than any other dentist in the world? And Bernice james is a member of james Ray's "Red Headed Review." Mary Lib saw her with her own eyes. Bob Williams is still a bachelor, the Beau Brummel around town. And Margaret Alice Blair runs a Tea Room on Broadway which is the most popular place in town. Did you know that she's married? Yes, she married an agent for the Eco'Thermal Stove Company. And Bill Foley-you remember he spent his childhood on the farm-well, he developed into a veterinary. Irma Thompson is famous for her illustration of a fashion strip entitled "Irresistable Irma," running in the Woman's World. I heard that Paul Dakin, after his famous quartette sang before King Alfonso of Spain, married a blackfeyed Spanish girl and is living somewhere over there. Everybody's talking about Mildred Weaver. Her portrait called "A Perfect Picture", painted by some famous artist is hanging in the London Art Gallery. Mary Lib said she saw Marion Loer working in one of those big Dow Stores fthat are supposed to have drugsj. You remember Marjorie Bangham. Well, she's following Mrs. Berry's teaching and is leading actress for " A Night in Paris" showing in all the leading cities along the coast. We went to see Barnum and Bailey's Circus which was in town and who do you think we saw? Robert Wills as Jolly Bobby in a side show! And you know the famous designer "Muriel," who ranks with Patou? She's the one we used to know in the class of '27. And did you see that notice in the paper about Lawrence Shawhan? Why, it said he had committed bigamy, but I guess it was disproved as he sued the paper. He's awfully wealthy now. My friend told me about a newly opened beauty shop, run and owned by Madamoiselle Naomi Goodwin. The patrons are from the most exclusivesociety. The attempt to carry out the fortune told by Mrs. Burns, led Paul Harrold to India. Can you believe it, he married an Indian woman and he is at home on East Silver St. with his wife and triplets. Dora Hall got her chance at Fred's Opening, now she's modeling at Lazarus in Columbus. You remember the Corwin boy- he's one of the happiest farmers around Lebanon. His specialty is the raising of Poland China hogs. While in Washington, Mary Lib saw Ruby Foster, who she learned is nursemaid to the children of the Ambasf

sador from Iceland. Have you heard about Harold Edmons? They say he's a second Billy Sunday and attracts huge crowds to his evangelistic services. He's scheduled to appear at the Opera House. Have you seen that book of poems by Laura Mercer? Critics say that she is one of the few modern poets whose works will live. I heard a talk over the radio by Kenneth Snyder, who is famous as a big game hunter. He's been in Africa several years. Evelyn Sawyer is a famous Athletic Director on account of in- struction received in High School by her sojourns to the gym. Arthur Davis has become as popular as Paul Whiteman with his orchestra. He's even getting fat. Did you know that Harold Hutchinson is bookkeeper at one of Kresge's 5 Ei 10 stores? They say he's a whirlwind with the ladies. Phyllis Oram is married and of course is a very economical housewife as they live on game which her husband brings in. Olive Carnahan, the pre' ferred blonde, is still breaking men's hearts. I heard, too, that David Melampy is a. cow puncher on the Bar X Ranch in Nevada. Did you know that Irene Loer turned to politics? Yes, she was elected to the General Assembly from this district. John Brenner is a second Patrick Henry and delivered an oration on "Why Gentlemen Pre' fer Blondes." I had a bit of news to tell Mary Lib and that is that our friend Margue' rite Hiza.r, in Hollywood, is makinga picture "The Untamed Lady." It will be the making of her reputation. Herschel Hollingshead has made a fabulous amount of money from his new deodorant for onions. It all seems so strange. You certainly can't tell how a person will turn out from the way he acts in High School. I 662300555
