LIBRARY The library is thought of as the center of all activities in the school academically as well as socially. In fact, the school library has been labeled as the country’s unique contribution to the science of education. It is an im- portant auxiliary in the search for answers to questions which grow out of school work. Remem- ber the book is the chief tool of the intellectual, for the aca- demically talented benefit most from wide and intensive reading. All library material is ordered, cataloged, and shelved for im- mediate circulation to the entire school population. Varied activities find the li- brary a suitable setting. Research workers study the card catalog and the Readers Guide which serve as guides to the storehouse of information found in the shelves. Important meetings are conducted in the library. Often students and instructors find a spare moment for reading. Miss Howard and Mrs. Baker, the library clerk, strive to pro- vide worthwhile and varied book and non-book materials to ac- commodate the students and the teachers of the school. 109
