TI E AT THE TCP These three people, along with all of the homeroom representa- tives, have accomplished the goal of all class officers-providing the entire class with all needed and necessary information concerning class projects, meetings, fund-rais- ing events, and all other activities. They have been the link between the 323 students of the class of 'SI and senior dean Mr. Ralph White, who has done an excellent job of running all senior classes over the years. The class of I98I has had four very successful years of fund-rais- ing, highlighted by a Sl,600 profit from the March I8th Senior Slave Day. This senior class considers themselves to be the best yet, and it will take some doing to surpass them. SEATED. Ak Murikami. FRIE DS I980-SI school year. Akiko was involved in the Youth for Understanding s program and Sandra's trip was planned and provided by the Youth Ex- change Service. Akiko, who lived with Mrs. Charles Baeckert, 42I Weidman Street. likes to read. write and listen to music in her spare time. Able to speak Japa- s nese and English well and a little Spanish learned at LHS. she hopes, someday, to work for the United Nations. 5 ln contrast to Akiko's experience with language was Sandra's problems l with English. Sandra speaks Spanish, and according to senior guidance counselor Mr. Chepulis, the exchange program director at LHS, her primary goal at the beginning of the year was to speak English. The Reverend Bruce Ellingson was her sponsor, and her future plans include a college education. I8 J sr .6 Q
