HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR An adjunct to the High School Glee Club is the High School Choir, a select group of twenty-four,voices. This or- ganization appears at intervals throughout the community and at school functions. One of their engagements this year was a public concert sponsored by the Young People's Club of Wolcott Methodist Church on March 14, where they sang for their supper. HIGH SCHOOL GLEE CLUB The 1964-65 High School Glee Club numbers 135, about equally divided between boys and girls. To sound its best, a glee club must have balanced voices, and this year the sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses complement each other to good advantage. One big event at which the Glee Club regularly performs is the Christmas Concert, but due to the illness of the director, Mrs. Esther Searle, the '64 Concert had to be canceled. Members hope, though, to make up for this omis- sion at their Spring Concert where they will sing a medley from My Fair Lady. For inspiration some of the group plan to attend the movie version of 'lMy Fair Lady in Rochester, before the Spring Concert is scheduled. Glee Club members made a similar trip to Rochester last fall to see a stage production of The Sound of Music at Eastman Theater. At the All-County Music Festival held at Leavenworth Central on February 12 and 13, Glee Club personnel had an opportunity to act as hosts and hostesses to guests from other schools. IUNIOR HIGH CHOIR Made up of four 7th and three 8th grade rooms, the Junior High Choir boasts 160 members. The Choir usually performs twice a year, at Christmas and again in the spring. A special treat for some members, including several freshmen, was the trip to the junior High All-County Festival at Lyons Central School on March -5 and 6. WAYNE COUNTY CHOIR AND BAND FESTIVAL The Wayne County Choir and Band Festival was held at Wolcott, February 12 and 13. The twelve schools of the county were represented in a choir of 175 voices and in aband of 80 pieces. Rehearsals were held Friday afternoon as well as twice Saturday, preliminary to the concert on Saturday evening. The Festival was a rewarding experience for students, and a satisfaction to their instructors. Much credit for this highly succesful undertaking belongs to all Leavenworth Central personnel, whose cooperation was indispensable.
