As this issue of .Roll Call goes to press only half of the Student Council's accomplishments and activities can be recorded. The period from October 1, 1964 to February 9, 1965, therefore, will be presented to preserve a likeness of the 1964-65 Leavenworth Central School Student Council. The officers are: President-Robert Chapin, Vice-President-Cindy Eagletong Secretary-Cheryl jackson, Treasurer-Bruce Marsh, and Parliamentarian-Thomas Ticconi. During the month of October the victorious Patriotic Party's platform was presented for Student Council consideration by President Bob Chapin. Of these, four points were approved by the administration, and committees were set up to bring these planks into reality. They are: 111 a sports score poster on three floors posting the score of all Leavenworth athletic contests, Q25 Student Council Bulletin board opposite Room 214, Q31 waste baskets in the halls, and Q41 record hops after basketball games. Also, the Halloween Party was organized bv the Student Council and collection of the annual 2593 tax was undertaken by the representatives. A 'l'Also in November, the waste baskets were put in the halls on the top floor. A tea for Rekha Sarup, foreign exchange student, was being planned. On December 8, the tea was held in the homemaking room. 'l tOn Dec. 15 meeting, a door decoration contest was sponsored by the Council and a student-of-the-month and an A.F.S. assembly was proposed. i In January, the first Student-of-the-month was chosen, one for the High School and one for Junior High. Record hops were success- fully held after some of the home games during the basketball season. Richard Nixon is the current disk jockey. On February 2, a joint International Day was held at Leavenworth by the A.F.S. Club and the Student Council, at which A.F.S. students from all over the county presented an assembly. A reception and record hop held the spotlight from 2:50 to 3:30 to complete the day. The Student Council has been working on a new Constitution and expects to have it approved by the administration and voted on by the student body in the near future. Preceding have been some of the highlights in the Student Council's business and accomplishments. Council members foresee more activities for the benefit of Leavenworth Central School and hope that the remainder of the year will be as active and fruitful. 'In November, Mrs. Carl Katz, president of the Wolcott Chapter of the American Field Service, visited a Council meeting and proposed .the establish- ment of an A.F.S. club at Leavenworth Central. At the close of the meeting, there was a unanimous vote in favor of forming this organization. MTo promote membership in the A.F.S. Club, the Council asked Mrs. Katz and the recently appointed Club advisers, Miss Nancy Bower and Miss Betsy Kinsey, to explain the aims of the new organization at the tea. 52

The Wolcott Chapter of the National Honor Society, following the fall induction, had a membership of 19 students from the Junior and Senior classes.
