C. started the school year with work on the 1963 School Fair, setting up a brand new attraction-The Fair Queen. Five finalists were chosen by the Council, then a Council-organized group made the final selection. The monumental task of organizing the floor space in the gym for the Halloween Party was again satisfactorily com- pleted by the Council. The Council awarded 317.50 in the Christmas Door Decorating Contest. All the cash went to the victorious junior High. This year's Safety Campaign began with the circulation of questionaires. This resulted in a fine panel discussion as- sembly presented bythe students. Safety slogans, posters, and announcements continue to remind the students of the importance of good manners and safe conduct. On February 20, the first in a series of monthly Dress-Up Days, with record hops, was held. This is a move to answer the popular demand for these Dress-Up Days. A newly-organized publicity committee is now on the job to promote better student-faculty Council communication. Questionaires circulated among the students and faculty asked the advisability of Spring elections for Student Council president and vice president. Action will be taken according to the poll. Under consideration for the remaining part of the year are these items: student-faculty sports events, Moving Up Day with class and faculty skits as an assembly, student-of-the-month awards, faculty appreciation day, and adoption of a foreign orphan.
