An Original Myth: THE ORIGIN OF LEOPARD SPOTS Acidopholus was a male leopard. One day he was looking for food, when he came to a blackberry bush. He was so hungry he ate all the berries, and as he was going home he started to get big black spots on his golden fur. He tried to remove the spots, but could not succeed. When Acidophilus' children were born, they had spots as well. Many generations after them were also born with big black spots. That is how leopards got their spots! Ellen Bass-l984 Robbin White-l981 HAIKU Seventeen birds in hight Soaring gracefully towards the sky Disappearing into the sunset As night approaches The sun goes behind the clouds Never to reappear Alan Stander-l982 LOVING YOU I don't know when I started loving you, but I know it is forever. Your smile is friendship, and your look is love. You are like a hower in spring, pretty and wonderfull. Fernando Nisenbaum-1982 THE BRACHIOSAURUS There once was a Brachiosaurus That strived when the earth was all porous, He cried much with shame When he first heard his name, And departed a long time before us. David Gitter-l982 Juliet Goldil982 POWER OF THE MIND I have the power-the power belongs to me. The power to make things come alive- how I want them to be. I can create-destroy to do as I will In a second I can make time stand still. And who am I?-that's easy to see I'm an ordinary person, but I can be anything I want to be And what is this power-that I possess, but not alone You cannot touch it or find it wherever you may roam But if you really want it-itls yours-it's not found on this earth. You've had it within you-ever since birth but there are only some who use it, and those are a few. I know you're curious and want to know who? So I' will tell' you, it's all in your mind and if you think hard- it's your imagination- you'll find The powers, your imagination, your ability to dream. Just open your mind, and you'll see what I mean. I suggest you use it for it is real Fine Develop your imagination and then you too can shout HI did it-I've done it now the power is MINE!!!"
