These boilers not only propel the ship, but also provide the ship with heat, hot water, and the driving force for the ship's turbinefgenerators which provide electricity for our use. BT'S are also responsible for the storage and transfer of all the ship's fresh water and fuel. The Leahy holds some 23,778 gallons of fresh water and over 500,000 gallons of fuel. In spite of some of the most strenuous working conditions possible, the pride and profes- sionalism of Leahy's BT's is ever apparent in the way these 30 year old plants operate. IF THE SNIPES DON'T GROGVE, THE SHIP WON'T MOVE! 17
