COMMAND MASTER CHIEF YNCM CSWD Manuel Rodriguez Master Chief Rodriguez, a Detroit, Michigan native, enlisted in the Navy in 1971. After Re- cruit Training he served aboard the amphibious command ship USS POCONO CLCC 161, fol- lowed by a brief tour of the Naval Air Mainten- ance Training Detachment, Naval Air Station, Norfolk, VA. Later assignments included Staff, Commander in Chief Atlantic, Staff, Com- mander Amphibious Group Twog Staff, Su- preme Allied Commander, Atlantic, and Edu- cational Services Officer, USS BELLEAU WOOD QLHA 35. He has also attended the Senior Enlist- ed Academy. Before reporting to USS LEAHY, Master Chief Rodriguez was assigned as Military Secre- tary for the Strategic Plans and Policy Director- ate, joint Chiefs of Staff.
