EXE UTI VE OFFI ER CDR .L 71 BLAKE CDR John T. Blake graduated from the U.S. Na- val Academy in l975. Upon completion of the SWOS Basic course, he was assigned to the'U55 NEW IDD 8l82 and U55 SARSFIELD CDD 8372 as Damage Control Assistant. Upon decommission- ing of the SARSFIELD he was assigned to the USS JOSEPH STRAUSS IDD I62, homeported in Pearl Harbor, as Communications Officer and Naviga- tor. In l979 CDR Blake was assigned to Navy Re- cruiting Command in Washington, D.C. as Flag Lieutenant. During his tour in Washington, he also served as a social aide at the White House. After completion of Department Head schooL CDR Blake was assigned to the U55 JOHN YOUNG CDD 9732 and the U55 CHANDLER CDDG 9962 as Operations Officer. ' CDR Blake served as Executive Officer aboard LEAH Y from I7 Mar l988 to I3 Dec I989. CDR Blake is married to the former Nan Marie Connelly of Washington, D.C. They have three children, Tara Marie, Erin and Terence.

West was born and raised in the Finger Lake Region of New York State and graduated from the University of Rochester in l965, receiving his commis- sion through the NRO TC program. Captain West has served at sea as Division Officer and First Lieutenant onboard USS WASP C C VS-l82, Department Head onboard USS CHARLES F. ADAMS KDDG-21, and as Commanding Officer of USS OPPROTUNE CARS-40 and USS MCINRENE Y fFFG58j. Shore assignments include Operational Test Director for the Navy's Cruise Missile Program at COMOPTEVFOR Norfolk, Virginia, as Staff Officer with the Chief of Naval Operations COP-062, Washington D.C., and as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, CINSOUTH Naples, Italy. Captain West has attended the Naval War College and holds a Master Degree in Management from Salve Regina College. Captain West assumed command of LEAH Y on November l, l989. Captain West is married to the former Bernadine Lom- bardo, also from Port Byron, New York. They have three children, Kimberly 21, Jennifer I4: and Benjamin, IQ

EXECUTIVE OFFI ER LCDR DA. sELEcMAN Lieutenant Commander Dave Selecman was born and raised in central Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University in l976, receiving his Commission through the NROTC Program. ' LCDR Selecman has served at sea as Damage Control Assistant onboard USS RICHARD S. EDWARDS CDD-9502, Ship Control Officer in USS CURTS CFFC-I-382, and Oper- ations Officer in USS GRIDLE Y CCG-20. Shore assignments include Fleet Training Group, San Diego and the staff of Naval Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island. LCDR Selecman reported to LEAH Y as Executive Officer in December l989. LCDR Selecman is married to the former Diane Macone of Melrose, Massachusetts.
