Soon, if we're lucky, our high school days will be over. But even so, we'll be glad to have this to look back on! It was rather difficult to start back to school after such a delicious summer. We were reluctant to discard tennis, learner's permits, and weekly pay cheeks for the lm- posslbilities of solid and U.S. History at such an early date. While city schools were still enjoying the freedom of an unfettered summer, our Juniors were bravely lighting their lamps of knowledge, preparing for a long winter's stand. The only joy that warmed our saddened hearts was the thought of an early release from these four walls. Life was uneventful for two more months, consisting of sunshine and shadows, then suddenly Sadie Hawkins was upon us. The eleventh grade's more serious thought-- the man shortage and east side blondes--were con- stantly belng interrupted by flurrled under- classmen dashing after dates. QAh! Dates! Sweet Memories!J The dance was a howling sucoessg we lit- erally ate up the profits. The tempo of class activities slowed down over Thanksgiving. Chilly weather caused the jaunty juniors to burrow deeper under the covers and cast disgusted looks at the alarm clock. 1945 had e had start, as does every year,
