Its purpose is to acquaint young men and women, as future leaders of society, with the government of their state. In 1967 it was held in early June at Samford University. Representatives engaged in various activities of the forms of state government and enjoyed a trip to the state capital to fill the chairs of of the state officials. REPRESENTA riVE TO INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FAIR I The IRth International Science Fair was held in San Francisco, May 10-13, 1967. 425 projects were shown representing all fil ' ty states and seven foreign countries. These projects were exhibited in seven categories: botany, chemistry and biochemistry, earth and space sciences, medicine and health, physics, mathematics and computers, and zoology. It was estimated that each finalist represented 1,842 exhibitors in school and regional science lairs leading to the International Fair. Twelve finalists represented Alabama in San Francisco and they received ten prizes. These finalists were given much fiee time to see San Francisco where they visited such places as .Mcatraz, Wells Fargo Bank, Muir Woods, Chinatown, Montgomery Street (San Franci.sco ' s Wall Street), Haight-Asbury.
