Try imagining what it's like stepping off a bus five hundred miles from home in an old condemned fairground in over one hundred degree heat. Bad, right? Wrong! For as soon as I stepped off that bus I got 850 new friends. The feeling of being in a place, sort of a small city, where everybody likes everybody else, and the only thing every- one wants to do is get to know as many guys as he can, is great. For one week this went on and at its end you try shaking 850 hands. Boys' State is something I will remember. It was an exciting expe- rience l'lI never forget. I was among 555 other girls who learned about our state's government by expe- riencing the responsibility of man- aging a state government of our own. The eight day stay was full of action as we built our govern- ment at a double time rate. Even faster though, we built solid friend- ships with many girls. Parting on that last day was a tearful event, but one which I will always remem- ber happily. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all who made it possible. ins. AND sas.
