Who said Liebold wasn’t Doetio? 11 - We pause. Armistice Day and no school. 22 - Sophomore Assembly. The admission of two girls brought the class enrollment to twenty-four; however the boys still outnumbered the ;.irls fourteen to ten. Weird occurrences in the Town Hall on arch 2U and 25 were the results of the junior play, The Skeleton ’Talks. The twenty-ninth of April will be remembered by both juniors and seniors for it was the date of the annual Junior-Senior Prom. Absent: Rita iaire 'dzzMMTri wvm «ewwwwMw� FOOTBALL SUMMARY New Florence—12 Dale------------14 The Wolverines of V m Florence High school journeyed to the Point Stadium on Septemuer 14 only to be turned back by the Purple Haiders in a close contest for the Marleymen. In this case lack of confidence in the first half of the game spelled defeat. New Florence—12 Avonmore---------0 Correcting their faults from their first contest, the Wolverines traveled to Avonmore to battle a strong fast Indian Tribe; but the Marleymen had too much power for the Avonmore team. This win was a great achievement for the boys as Avonmore is one of the most talked about foes. May future teams do their level best to continue defeating the Indians. New Florence—13 Black Lick Twp.—0 Trying their best to continue in the v in column, the Wol- verines traveled to Twin Rocks to down a stubborn, heavy, hard charg- ing squad. Last season the V olverines lost to Black Lick Twp. 6-0 in a stubborn defensive battle. New Florence—38 Heilwood---------6 Gaining stronger confidence after winning their last two games, the Marleymen traveled to Pine Twp. to down an inexperienced Green and White. Johnny Moore, Y olverine Haldback, raced for four touchdowns to spearhead the attack. Every player on the Wolverine team did his share in winning the game. New Florence—14 Clymer-----------0 The Wolverines jumped off to a quick two touchdown lead to spell defeat for Clymer in a night game at home. This was one of the few home games the Marleymen played this season. Five of the seven contests were on enemy soil. New Florence—0 Commodore-------13 Going into the game with injuries against them, the Wolver- ines played their best only to suffer their second defeat in six starts. Both teams went into this game with four straight wins. Commodore had been defeated only by a strong Saltsburg Trojan eleven. New Florence—7 Ligonier--------20 After two weeks of recuperation the Wolverines traveled to Ligonier to play their strongest foe of the campaign. Only thirteen Marleymen made the trip for all the other players were nursing inju- ries.
