LAUREL HI H ...This Year. .. . . .in the 1956 Milestonel' we bring you a glimpse of life and attendance in Laurel High School. This is not merely an academic picture, rather it is a picture ofthe school known only to those of us who have lived its friendliness, its warmth, and its boundless enthusiasm. We hope it is a portrait of the intangible spirit that permeates our school, of the friendliness that carries us through its corridors with a cheerful Hello, and of the enthusiasm that warms us during those frosty fall nights as we root on our heralded Bulldogs. It is this spirit of friendliness and co- operation that has made our task of bringing you this yearbook such a happy one. It is with the greatest pleasure that we give you your yearbook, a recollection of your Laurel memories. The book is ours only in the sense that we were the ones to write these words, to assemble these picturesg it is really yours, for you are the Laurel students who have lived these pages. You are that frenzied scholar struggling over those flasks in the chemistry lab, you are the student strolling down the walks or lounging on the shady lawns of our school, you are that cheering individual at the pep ralliesg you are that happy person who has lived the fun of Laurel High. And so we give you your book, a composite picture, we hope, of your days at our school. We have enjoyed bringing it to youg we hope you will enjoy it, too .... 2
