HO OR SOCIETY The Laurel Chapter of the National Honor Society is composed of students from grades 10, 11, and 12, whom the faculty has decided possess the specific qualifica- tions for membership in this Society. These qualifications are: scholarship, leader- ship, character, and service. A student must have a scholastic average of 87lfQQ? or better for a semester. The officers of the Laurel Honor Society for the 1954-1955 term are: Robert Wootten, President, Trenny Marvil, Vice-President, and Jean Brittingham, Secretary. The old members, those who have been retained as members of the Honor Society, hold initiations each semester for the new members. This year the old mem- bers held a mock trial during an assembly program to decide whether or not to ac- cept the new members into the organization. The Sophomores were accepted as pro- bationary members, and, if they meet the qualifications in their Junior year, they will receive their Honor Society pins which the upperclassmen have already received.
