Frosh Indescribably Good of this year's team, bragged Larry Gillard, coach of this as teamwork, generosity, year's championship Frosh Basketball attitude, willingness to team. desire, ect., ect., fall short of true meaning of this team, With desire to hustle and work, this group of boys started league with a 4 - 1 record, losing only to Yosemite High in a very controversial match. After starting league, though, nothing stood in the way of these boys and the E.S.L. Championship title. Frisky iStangs Capture Title This year Laton High did not only have a Varsity Championship and a Frosh Championship, but they also had a JV Championship. For the first time in quite a few years, the JV Mustangs captured the ESL title. Coach Roger Braddon was quite excited about the teams 8-1 pre- season record and their 9-1 league record. The Coach was asked what he thought of his team, and commented, 'XI was pleased with the desire and enthusiasm exhibited by each and every member of the team throughout the entire season. We would not be denied our shot at the title. 1. Dave Rangle 1327 and Rick Alves 1239 supply an unbreakable press. 2. Dave Rangle 1329 and Joe St. Martin C249 pressure their opponent into making a costly mistake. 3. Tony Borges makes two points with this right- hand layup. 4. Girls' Defense Team depth, balanced scoring, and good attitudes led the Varsity girls' basketball team to a 4-4 record, which won them third place in the East Sierra League.
