Mustangs U ndisputed Champs The Varsity Mustangs finished the season with the excellent mark of 20 wins and four losses. To climax this, the Varsity won the East Sierra League championship with an unprecedented 10-0 record. The Mustangs went on to face the Hanford Bullpups in the first round of Valley play offs. Along with these accomplishments, the Mustangs captured third place in the Riverdale Basketball Tournament held during Christmas vacation. Frisky iStangs Capture Title This year Laton High did not only have a Varsity Championship and a Frosh Championship, but they also had a JV Championship. For the first time in quite a few years, the JV Mustangs captured the ESL title. Coach Roger Braddon was quite excited about the teams 8-1 pre- season record and their 9-1 league record. The Coach was asked what he thought of his team, and commented, 'XI was pleased with the desire and enthusiasm exhibited by each and every member of the team throughout the entire season. We would not be denied our shot at the title. 1. Dave Rangle 1327 and Rick Alves 1239 supply an unbreakable press. 2. Dave Rangle 1329 and Joe St. Martin C249 pressure their opponent into making a costly mistake. 3. Tony Borges makes two points with this right- hand layup. 4.
