traverse all types of terrain in their quest to be champions. Though the J,V.'s and Varsity hnished third and fifth respectively, it was an enjoyable season for all concerned. Coach Richard Petersen was pleased with everyone's improvement throughout the season. A late start in training hampered the Mustangs in the early going but persistence enabled them to come back to a good season. The loss of runners from the previous year and the absence of a girls' team were disappointments of the season. Coach Petersen remains optimistic, though, expecting a strong team next year. Attempts will be made to enter races during the summer to provide runners with valuable experience. This will furnish good preparation for the season to follovv. Coach Petersen plans to diversify next year's schedule matching the Mustangs against teams in distant places. 26 fall Cross Country Runs lli Louie Brasil sets the pace ahead of an Avenal runner. CZ?
