Laler, however, lhey losl lhe Fresno Counly lille lo Roosevell. They were a lasl playing leam and were very adepl al handling lhe ball. They had made a repulalion lor lhemselves as Freshmen and again as Sophomores and lhis year had lo uphold lhal repulalion by winning a championship. Allhough lhey did nol succeed in capluring lhe Counly Championship. lhey did win lhe Counly Semi-Finals. The leam members were as follows: Claude Braclcell, F: George Nishi, F1 John deVries, C3 Pele Balderama, G7 Franlc Reis, G. The subslilules were Dean Sheldon and Harley Adams. The A leam was a slraighl shooling leam, a leam which was composed ol good sporls who could win or lose a game wilh honor and wilhoul ill-leeling. The lwo mosl oulslanding players were Elroy Usellon, and Pele Kercher. These lwo were usually high poinl men. There were Bill Usellon, Glenn Price and Glenn Dooley, wilh Keilh Parsons as subslilule, lo keep lhe game speeding and lo lorce lhe allaclc. Praclice games were held wilh many neighboring schools around: ol lhese Lalon won approxi- malely hall. The score was I2-O, in Tavor oT Coalinga. The Third game, wiTh Sierra, was losT in The lasT Two minuTes3 Sierra I3, LaTon I2. Though The season opened wiTh a crushing deTeaT, iT closed wiTh an even greaTer vicTory. In The game wiTh CaruThers, The Two Teams were nearly evenly maTched in size and weighT.
