Student Body Council The Sfudenf Council represenfs every organizafion, club, and class in fhe Lafon High School. If is fhe means by which fhe sfudenf has his say in school affairs. To be a member is fo bear a heavy responsibilify. The councillors fhis year have been loyal and always ready fo solve difficulf problems. They have worked fogefher smoofhly in supporfing and backing imporfanf measures. The responsibilifies placed on each member go a long way foward preparing fhe individual for his work in lafer life. A posifion on fhe council is a place of disfincfion and honor, and if can be frufhfully and sincerely said fhaf fhe members have nof abused fheir privileges, buf have made fhe mosf of fheir opporfunifies fo beffer fhe sfudenfs of fhe Lafon High School. Each member has fulfilled his dufies quife conscienfiously on behalf of his respecfive class or organizafion. Blu-Goldileer For The TirsT Time in iTs hisTory The LaTon High School has a school paper, which is published semi-monThly on Thursdays. The iournalism club was organized aT The beginning oT The year wiTh only Tour members besides The advisor, lvliss Jane Cook. The name BLU-GOLDILEER, was chosen because iT represenTs The school colors, blue and gold. During The TirsT semesTer, ediTorship oT The paper was given To a new person Tor each publicaTion, buT during The second semesTer one ediTor published Three papers beTore passing on his posiTion To anoTher. The paper was TirsT published on plain whiTe mimeograph paper TasTened TogeTher wiTh clips. LaTer a Tolder Type was used and diTTerenT colors and columns oT prinT were experimenTed wiTh To some degree OT success. The BLU-GOLDILEER sTaTT made a pracTice oT meeTing TogeTher on Wednesday aTTernoons and evenings To compile The paper and have iT ready Tor issuance aT noon Thursday. They usually had a poT-luck dinner TogeTher in The Home-making building on Wednesday evenings. Membership grew slowly buT sTeadily unTil aT The presenT Time There are I3 mem- bers: Viola CrawTord, Lillie Larson, PeTe Balderama, William Roush, William Reed. EdiTh Qualls, Bernerd RiTchie, JuaniTa Anderson, Ursula Turner, Hazel Gonser, Francis Landis, Leslie JeweTT, and VioleTTe Searcey. The advisor is lvliss Cook and honorary members are Mr. Hayes and Mr. Glenn.
