ludent Council BACK ROW: lack Goudreau, Carol Ferris, Nancy Scofield, Delbert Nickel, Peggy Callihan, john Kelly, Bob Kalbfleisch, Rita Robinson, Roger Wood, Gary Nickel, Tom Simmons, Judson Coveyou, Shirley Ferris. SEATED: Mr. Werner, Nancy Gustafson, Mona Warner, Prudy Tamlyn, Don Ligget, Dave Earl, Deanna Prokop. The Student Council, this year under the advisorship of Mr. Werner, has concerned it- self with problems of the school and student body. Members of the council represent each homeroom. A school-wide election each spring names a Student Council Presi- dent for the ensuing year. Prudy Tamlynhas served in that office in the 1957-58 school year. A major activity of the council was working with adults of the community for acquisition of the building which will become the St. Ignace Youth Center, A dance committee of the council regulates use of the gymnasium for after-game and week-end dances. 0 I0

Board of Education Mr. Wachter, Mr. Ossmann, Dr. McKinnon, Mr.Vairo, Mr. Brown, Mr. Hunter, Mrs. Fair. NOT PICTURED: Mr. Morin, Mrs. Sterk. Seven public-spirited men and women assist Mr. Ossmann and Mr. Wachter in the administration of our school. These devoted citizens spend much time and thought in the problems of our education. They formulate policies, serve to interpret the school to the community, make appointments, and budget income. Of major concern in their present thinking is our need for physical expansion before the large enrollment of grade school children reaches high school age. 1957-58 improvements in which the board has had a large share are continued work on the athletic field, installation of the Youth Center building, and formation of a new athletic league. 9
