PHYSICAL EDUCATION ia- A resolution of the American Association of Health, Physical Education and Recreation states, A nation is only as strong as it is totally Ht and the schools are charged with the preparation of youth for life.', This statement explains the purpose and goals of Lansdowne's Physical Education Depart- ment. Our programs olfer the student body develop- ment in sportsmanship, teamwork, and safety. The activities are designed to be beneficial to the stu- dents not only now, but also in the future. Our facil- ities are constantly being improved upon and in- creased to allow Lansdowne's students the best op- portunity to keep themselves physically fit. Our teachers are the finest and are always willing to work with their students for advancement in skills. It is the responsibility of the students to strengthen and maintain their bodies and to learn to accept the challenges offered by sports. F OREIC LANGUAGE The Foreign Language Department offers students a choice of two languages, French or Spanish. Students can pursue the study of a language for one to live years. They not only learn to speak the language Well, but they also learn the histories and customs of the countries Where these languages are spoken.
