MATHEMATICS The Mathematics Department, under the leadership of Mr. Harmeyer, presents a balance between the forty-four years of experience of Mr. Marshall and the youthful enthusiasm of Miss Hamm and Mr. Michalski. The department was bol- stered last year by the addition of Mr. Trimeloni and Mr. Nowosielski and further strengthened this year by the pres- ence of Miss Loughrey and Mr. Meyer. The Math Department provides courses for academic students starting with a new self-pacing Algebra I course and contin- uing through to advanced placement Cal- culus. For non-academic students, Ap- plied Math, General Math and Math 9 are provided. In addition to the self-pacing Algebra, the department is also pioneering new courses in College Algebra and Calculus this year. Below: Mr. Meyer finds that sometimes his students need personal assistance.

CIE CE The Science Department of Lansdowne, this year, includes a staff of eleven professionally trained teachers. Their main objective is to enrich the students, knowledge of science and to help them understand and cope with the contemporary environmental problems facing us today. There is a great diversity of courses offered, such as: Biology, General Science, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Science, and also a three year vocational program of Horticulture. In addition to these courses, there are many outside opportuni- ties to fuliill the students' interests in science. At Lansdowne, we have a Science Club, sponsored by Mr. Theroux and Mrs. Frank. Our contribution to the pollution problem is our E.N.D. Club spon- sored by Mr. Creenfeld. Mrs. Iddings is the coor- dinator of the new Independent Research Pro- gram, another extra-curricular activity. A student who wishes to investigate a scientific problem on his own may go to Mrs. Iddings for guidance in his work. Because a knowledge of science is vital today, Lansdowne offers all available opportunities for a better understanding in this field. ::'i.E': ,Z: Wmfxmt A 'rf 1 552,550 . rSz?5?Qi.z2iliz' - Q 2 , mg '1iSlf?fW' s,is,?9a::guw ,,.: , . 5,32 ,ty ZX fra ??,.KX sk Y. .rx ,, .mer ,iw X., f ayaxsgagafig ri.
