Cohen The word for the Social Studies Department this year was exciting. A new program was developed and the teachers made this year a really good one. They were not content to just let normal activities occur, but were planning all year to make their classes more interesting. For instance, a new program, entitled Family Living, was a project for the Senior Class. This program had never been attempted before as a grade level project, but turned out successfully. The presentations included :films and speakers. The speakers were selected from current ersonalities and leaders of the community who discusse many subjects of interest. In addition to that, Mr. Fort and Mr. Poscover devel- oped a team teaching class in which they combined the Social Studies and Science Departments. This program was called S.E.S. - Society Environmental Science. It dealt with the sociological implications of the biological problems of the environment and proved to be a great success. The Social Studies Department also welcomed two new teachers to the stall this year. Mrs. Pat Seitz taught ninth grade and Mr. Mark Caniield C.I.S.S. and Modern Contemporary History.
