This year's junior Varsity Girls' Basketball team Was not quite as successful as the Var- sity, Winning only two games and ending the season with a 2-7 record. Aided by some good shooters, the girls gave their opponents many exciting games. They were very spir- ited and avidly supported not only their fellow players but also the Varsity team. Although their record doesn,t show it, the girls had a good team and should provide ,plenty of material for the Varsity squad next year. CIRL ' BASKETBALL - VARSITY CHAMP Lansdowne,s girls, teams have always been overshadowed by the boys' teams. This year, however, they roved they could be number one, too. The girls' var- sity basketball team came through their league season with a sharp 7-I record to capture the Western Division Crown. This earned them the chance to meet Parkville to decide the county champion- ship. Although the girls played a good game, they were defeated by a strong Parkville team. In spite of this defeat, the girls are proud of their victories and hope to go all the way next year.
