CHOIR it This year,s Concert Choir, under the direction of Mr. Mark Dubbs, who is new to Lansdowne, has brought considerable recognition to our school. A concert of sacred Christmas music was presented at St. Maryys Seminary College on December 20. Selections varied from fairly modern compositions to those of the early Renais- sance. The highlight of the Choir,s year was an invitation to the Music Educators Na- tional Convention in Atlantic City, New jersey on February 27. This was indeed an honor for Lansdowne, since the Choir was representing the entire state of Mary- land. The climax of the performance was ,The Cherubic Hymni' by Howard Han- son, which was performed with the Lower Merion High School Symphonette from Ardmore, Penns lvania. On April 20, the Choir traveled to Dal- lastown High School in Pennsylvania for an exchange program with their choir. DA return visit was made to Lansdowne by the Dallastown choir on April 26th. The Lansdowne Concert Choir ended their year with trips to various junior and senior high schools in the area. The members of the Madrigals are: R. Hutchison, F. Jones, A. Coe, D. Nicholaisen, R. PRIDE Upon their return to school in September, a group of about 50 students Who were dissatisfied with the conditions of the school Went to the administration to see What could be done. They were advised to form a club to involve more students. Pride, under the leadership of Roger Posey, was the result. Although this Was their first year, they have accomplished a great deal. Before the fall roduction of A Thousand Clownsv the auditorium was cleaned. Tlhhe rugs, floors, walls and seats were all scrubbed and repaired by the club members. Since that time, class- rooms, halls, the area around the gym, the lobby and the lavatories have been Worked on, and assemblies have been held. Their aim for the future is to involve more of Lansdowneas stu- dents in Pride - to have everyone have 'fPrideu in their school. The members of the Pride Committee are: C. Fridley, M. Walters, G.
