CHEERLEADER The Varsity and junior Varsity cheerleading s uads did an excellent job of making fdhe pep rallies and ath- letic events more exciting this year. Each squad contributed to school spirit and made this year a great success. The girls cheered during soccer, wres- tling, football and basketball games and expressed their enthusiasm in lead- ing the teams on to victory. The Varsity squad welcomed a new sponsor, Miss Margaret Hamm. Miss Hammls efforts and interest in the girls encouraged them to inject even more spirit into school activities. The squad consisted of four juniors and five se- niors, with Nancy Gartrell as captain and Brenda Foxwell as co-captain. The j.V. Cheerleaders had many new cheers and gave a new look to their uniforms by wearing saddle shoes. Mrs. jo Ann Harris, the new sponsor of the junior Varsity squad and a former Viking cheerleader, contributed a great deal to the spirit of the girls.
