Basketball season was in full swing with the Varsity having one of their best seasons ever The B team and two freshman teams also showed Lanier pride. Something new on the court this year was the girl s team With little experience but a lot of talent, the girls strived to be recognized as athletes Another new experience was getting out of school six days for snow Although graduation had to be post- poned for a week, everyone enjoyed playing in the white stuff while it lasted. This, the coldest winter since the turn of the century, had its advan- tages Csnow and getting out of schoolb but also there were disadvantages Ccold, cold weather, and going to X l4,! I I Z. al . Spring and A.E.A. on the Way As time grew near for the final yearbook pages to be mailed in, everything was pointed toward spring and the end of,the year. Some lucky people were looking forward to a trip to Europe over A.E.A. They were Beth Britton, Lisa Kidd, Loretta Rigdon, Penny Kurtts, Ken Hyde, Matt Self, Sherry Mabry, Tammy Baker, Mrs. Perkins, Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Drys- dale, Mrs. Belew, Miss Griffin, and Mr. Bottsford. Everyone had begun to prepare for the flourish of tests and exams that accompany the end of school. The seniors could be seen with stars in their eyes looking forward to graduation, or were there tears as they realized a portion of their life was about to end? Seventy-seven would soon be a memory to treasure forever . . . ,+ .A+ Nr D-si-sN f -xg ff ,,,,.,..-1' K 42 fr N .pf we ,V ., , , fy lr Q QQ, S 9 'S I N
