Pageant Held to Select Miss JLHS The Miss Jess Lanier Contest was a great success. The first area of competition was streetwear displayed before the student body. Immediately afterward there was a tea during which the contestants were called into the judges chambers for private interviews. Then the girls went home to prepare for the big night when they modeled their long evening gowns. The entertainment, morning and night, was excellent. Eula Parker was accompanied by Martha Freeman as she sang A Time For Us. the Jazz-Rock Band played background music for morning and night and also popped up for feature numbers in effective places. The Jazz Ensemble, accompanied by Mike Sanders, Frank Manzella and Vickie Burchfield, sand Let Me Be There , Touch Me in the Morn- ing and Killing Me Softly. l ,ff is 2 '46 l W
