THE AERONAUT DlR JAMES N 1R1U1LlE-0ur Prmnczpal Dr James N Rule although new as the prxnclpal of our school already ICCLIVQS the respect and admxratxon of every teacher and student 1 xfe has held many posmons for Dr Rule He was graduated from the Washlngton and Jefferson College and xmmedlately followlng he obtalned a teachlng pos1t1on 1n Washxngton Hugh School ln a short t1me he became the After comlng to P1ttsburgh Dr Rule was a teacher of mathematncs at the Peabody High School for several months Then he became the prxnclpal of Central H1gh School ln September 1912 the faculty of the Central H1gh School was moved to the Schenley H1gh School Thus he was the last pr1n cxpal of Central and the hrst of Schenlex Durmg the war Dr Rule was the Natlonal DIIQCIOY of the Junlor Red Cross In 1921 he came to the State Department of Publxc Instruct1on and he was made the D1rector of Sclence In a short time he obtalned the posltlon of Deputy State Supermtendent 1n charge of the secondary schools of Penn sylvanla In 1931 Dr Rule ve as appolnted by Governor Pmchot to the office of the State Supermtendent of Schools for a term of four years In September 1935 lt was the good fortune of Langley to obtaln the servlces of Dr Rule as nts prlnclpal The semor class extends to Dr Rule xts most snncere w1sh that he may have many years of success and happlness at 1 angley principal of the-Washinrgton and Jefferson Academy.
