Charles Cantor Secretary ...........,.. Oren Eisenberg Sponsor ..... ..... M r. Hook Efficiently goveining Lane's student body, the STUDENT COUNCIL makes many regu- lations for students to follow. Besides improv- ing the general welfare of Lone, the Council's main concenn, it iis also involved with awarding service leihters and selecting B'ig Brothers for freshman divisionis. The Council dppoints com- mittees which study various school problems thoroughly in order to improve student envi- roniment. Appropriation. of monies to be given to school organizaftions and to charities is another of the Counc'iI's mony duties. Regulations written. by the Student Coufnci-I are interpreted by eight members of the STUDENT COURT whose au-tihonity is provided for in the Student Council constitution. Throughout the semester, Student Court judges deal with offenses of stude-nits in and around the school. These offenders, who are sent to the court by hallguards and traffic engineers, are given sentences varying in their severity according to the offense involved.
