Mr, Norman Bannor Skaters Streak to Victory RACING TO THE FRONT, a Lane skater cap- tures the lead in the city ice-skating meet held ot the Wavelond Rink. Members of the ICE SKATING TEAM can be recognized by their flashing steel blades and cold determination. The team is composed of the best skaters in the school as determined by intramural competition. Representing Lane in the Public League Championships held in Jonuary, the skaters placed second in the Jun- ior Division 'and third behind Lindblom and C.V.S. in the Senior Division. The team mem- bers develop their speed and stamina through practice on their own time. 237

DETERMINATION and perseverance are shown in the face of Don Carlson as he wrestles his opponent to a pin. atmen Reign as Section Champs The hours of practice spent each day during the early part of winter by members of the WRESTLING TEAM were well rewarded by the fine record the team compiled last season. The Wrestling Team captured the North-Sec- tion Championship by twice defeating each of the semi-final meet of the City Championship, the record was extended to seven wins and no losses by Lane's victory over Parker.
