Each athlete spe- cializes in performing on one or more pieces of equipment such as the trampoline, side horse, parallel bars, rings, or high bar. Each appa- ratus strengthens a different part of 'his body. The gymncist's hours of practice result in his developing balance, form, and muscle tone. ACTIVITY SPONSORS Mr. Leonard Jaraczek, Cross Country Team, Track Team, Mr. Charles Siebert, Bowling Club, Bowling Teams, Traffic Engineers. lnstructing Laneites in the fundamentals of keeping healthy is the principle purpose at the PHYSICAL EDUCATION department. Stu- dents active in the physical fitness program participate in a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, softball, and football. The boys also perform calisthenics to increase their stamina and agility and build their strength. One period weekly is devoted to health classes which increase the students' knowledge of mental and physical hygiene.
