Mechanics Study Automotive Principles Roaring gasoline engines are often heard in the southwest wing of the building where three shops constitute' the AUTO SHOP progriam, The one-semester course is taken in three sepa- rate parts: engine shop, body and feindier shop, and electrical shop. A semester of ad- vanced training is also available to those who are interested. ln these shops the students learn about engine and frame structures, the different types of paint finishes and body de- signs, and the automobile's complex electrical system. The experience gained in this shop is of great value to students who enjoy working on cars and can purchase their own. :we-4 RECORDING THE RESULTS of a test, Stanley Kubala and John Klein finish a job in auto shop which provides actual experience in repairing an engine. An important course offered to Laneites to meet this need is DRAFTING, the universal lainguage of the industrial world. Drafting students acquire accuracy and neatness through practise on work-sheets and lettering-sheets and develop their mechainicial reasoning power by solving various drawing problems.
