On September 6 1940 fourteen happy rnnocent youngsters entered the Lancaster school for the frrst ttme They were Yvonne Peterson Betty Bylund Marlene Ward Jean Ward Carol Sanner Arden Chrrstopherson Gerald Homstad Shrrley Nordlrng Bobby Qurner Darlene Kothe Marge Nelson Elarne Hendrrckson Ernest Qurner and Elsa Lesktew Throughout therr frrst erght grades several students left and several newstudents were seen among them Those leavrngdurtng thrs trme were Elsa Ernest Elarne Marge and Shrrley New students were Betty Gustafson Charles Hunter Darlene Olson Dennrs Nordrne Bruce Berkeland Grace Beck and Gayolene Nordrne The year 1948 marked the begrnnrng of therr hrgh school days New class members were Mary Gus tafson Lots Dexter Marlys Elfstrom Morrrs Murray Lewrs Jasczak Florence Olsonoskt and Gary Sch wenzeferer Mrs Lund was chosen as advrsor for therr frrst year of hrgh school The mam event of the freshman year was naturally rnrttatron At thrs occasron they wore gunny sack pantaloons and roller skates Dunng the year Bobby Qurner left the class At the begrnmng of therr sophomore year Betty and Mary Gustafson dropped out Berng athletrcally mrnded the class chose the coach Mr Vatl as therr advrsor Inrtratrng the freshman hrghlrghted the events of the year Rrchard Ehrenstrom Jorned therr class rn the1rJun1or year The many actrvrtres of the year were super vrsed by Mr Hoveland and Mrss Unruh That fall found them concentratrng on therr Jumor Class play We Shook the Famrly Tree whrch was under the drrectron of Mrss Jenme Skarren It was at least rn therr oprnron qurte successful The second major achrevement of the year was the decoratrng and pre sentrng of the Iunror Senror Prom and Banquet the theme of whrch was Rose Festrval As school started rn the fall of 1951 they notrced that Rrchard Ehrenstrom was no longer wtth them Lewrs Jasczak left them after the frrst few weeks of school Mr Smrth and Mrss Unruh were elected as Senror advrsors They are now rn therr twelfth and frnal year of publrc school educatron Ahead of them lres the Sen ror Class play the Junror Senror Prom and Banquet class trrp and last but not least Baccalaureate and Commencement 4413 Wad!
