Lambuth Install s New President On October 10, 1987, Dr. Thomas Frank Boyd was installed as the sixth president of Lambuth College. During his fifteen year career in administration, he has served as Director of Institutional Research, Dean, Vice President for Development, and Executive Vice President. The various representatives of the college ' s constituency de- livered their greetings, the presentations were made, the Concert Band and Choir performed. Dr. Boyd sparked interest with his address entitled Exploring ' ' during the ceremony. Dr. Boyd ' s message raised issues and hopes pertinent to today and conveyed insight into Lambuth ' s problems and hope for Lambuth ' s future. Among his goals for the years to come were the creation of a Master ' s degree program in the liberal arts, the establishment of an honors program within the college, and the formation of a student and faculty exchange program with a foreign siste college. Dr. Boyd also stated that the most integral element of any college is the student body. He left, the impression that if treated with respect and confidence, students will respond in like fashion. Homecoming Is Season Finale Homecoming is always a special time, and this year ' s Home- coming was no exception. As the festivities of the 1987 weekend began, there were many old friendships to renew, memories to recall, and many activities in which to participate. The fun began on Friday with the second annual Eagle Golf Tournament, tennis tournaments, and class reunions. Saturday ' s events included a 5-K run, an Alumni Luncheon, Preview ' 88 for prospective students, the S.G.A. Home- coming Dance, and the Alumni Dance. Of course, the highlight of the weekend was the football game In which the Lambuth College Eagles played Cumberland College. An excellent turnout, pep rally, and banner contest proved just how much spirit Lambuth College really has. Homecoming weekend proved to be a time to remember glories of the past and to expect great things of the future.
