WELCOME ABOARD At Lakcwood High School, sludcnls of all types were taken in as special and unique individuals. The veterans of the school took time out to show the rookies the way around, and to make sure they enjoyed their three years at Lakcwood High. Welcome Aboard, was an attitude shared by eve- ryone at LHS. Rallies and other on campus activities helped make the new kids on the block welcome, to get them in- volved in the traditions of Lakcwood High School, while having fun as well. With help from administrators, teachers. and fellow students, the newcomers quickly felt at home, ready to participate in all that LHS had to offer. Their first year at Lakewood High School was certainly more enjoyable as a result. Welcome Aboard , a feeling that reached out to all who came to be first-time Lancers in 1988-89. Welcome Aboard

SPECIAL RENDEZVOUS Never ceasing to diligently fill students ' time with ex- citement, escape, and even a bit of fanaticism, the Special Rendezvous of Lancers brought much to see and do. Wheth- er relaxing at the beach, or taking it up, up, and away on a short plane ride over the city, the meeting place was always an important part of the plans. A day spent at the enchanting place called Disneyland was an example of this idea. Some LHS students thought studying for that big test was the way to spend time away from school, while others would rather carve up the ski slopes on a sunny afternoon. No matter where or when Lancers spent their free time, the key to making the most of it was relaxation. The Special Rendezvous of each person at Lakewood High School meant something unique to each and every one of them. 6 Special Rendezvous
